| The current prices are very
volatile. Call for prices. (Minimum order - 70 barrels in a 20 ft.
container) |
|
(All entire barrels are shipped tightly bunged, with No. 1 poplar
bungs.) |
| "No.1 Selects" |
"No. 1 Selects"
are defined as:- Freshly emptied. They have no cracked staves. Head warpage is no more than
1/2" from flat. They have no more than two hairline cracks in the
staves about 12" either side of the bung hole, and no other hairline
cracks elsewhere. They have no recoopered or replaced heads, and no pulling or stretching of the
rivets. |
| "Distillery Runs" |
The "Distillery Runs"
are defined as freshly emptied, unselected, and possibly having some
slight defects in the staves or heads, or slightly more warping on the
head than is acceptable for selects. These barrels have all held whiskey
1-3 days prior to shipment, and are in fairly good condition, with a
majority being ready for refilling. |
| "Shooks"
(dismantled barrels) |
The "Shooks" are
barrels which have been dismantled, with any cracked staves having been
replaced with matching staves of the same width and length. The staves are
tied in neat bundles, and may be numbered for reassembly if requested. The
heads are stacked in sealed entire barrels, to keep them flat and moist.
Shooks may be supplied without heads or hoops, at reduced prices, where
the staves are to be used to construct "hogsheads". |
| "Culls" |
The "Culls" are
barrels that have been selected out as barrels that may leak due to a
cracked stave or warped head. They are excellent for uses that don't
require a watertight barrel, e.g. planters, etc. |
